There is no obligation, actual or implied, to use
our framing service. The reality is that it is easier for us
just to ship the artworks as we find them.
The choice of framing is crucial to the
viewing experience: much of the impact of a painting is based
on context. And, of the many layers of context, framing is by
far the most intimate - it’s what integrates the painting into
the decor of the room.
All the frames here are
relatively colour neutral. However, there's a technique called
colour keying; that is, you find the predominant colour of the painting and
reflect this either in the frame or mount. It can create a
stunning effect and we can discuss this on a painting by
painting basis.
